Harts Cares More... About Our Community
When we developed our company slogan, “We Care More,” we weren’t just paying lip service to our neighbors here in the Tacoma, WA, area. We put those words into action in everything we do as representatives of Harts. When we’re not cleaning drains, laying pipe, installing water heaters, or performing emergency repairs for a customer in need, we’re out in the community we love, trying to give back in any way we can.
Here are a few examples of our recent community activities and involvement.
Keeping Our Roads Clean and Beautiful
Customers already know we’re not afraid to get down and dirty to keep Tacoma area homes functioning and looking their best. We apply the same dedication to our local roads through our participation in the Adopt A Highway program. That’s our team in the picture, showing our community spirit by picking up litter along State Route 512!
We believe that a clean home, as well as a clean hometown, fosters a sense of pride in who we are. We feel that pride very deeply and want to share it with residents and visitors alike!
Providing Shelter for Tacoma’s Less Fortunate
The Harts team is a big supporter of Habitat For Humanity and the work they do to give underprivileged families a place to call home. We were honored to lend our plumbing expertise and manpower to a Tacoma/Pierce County Habitat for Humanity home-building project in the Tillicum neighborhood in July of 2018.
Sewer Repairs for Low-Income Families
In June 2018, we established the We Care More Fund as a way of giving low-income families throughout the Tacoma area access to essential sewer repairs they couldn’t otherwise afford.
We understand how devastating a failed sewer system can be for a homeowner, especially when the typical sewer replacement costs more than $10,000. So, we started the fund to help families with limited budgets get the new sewer lines they need to stay healthy and comfortable in their homes. We contribute $1 to the fund for every foot of sewer pipe we install during our daily operations.
Commitment to Employees’ Quality of Life
In 2019, in addition to making the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies in America (we ranked 976th), we received a WorkWell Award from the Tacoma-Pierce County Chamber of Commerce. This is an honor bestowed upon local companies who make the health and wellness of their employees a priority.
In other words, while we strive to continue growing and evolving on the business side, we never lose sight of our core values — or our company motto.
