What will you receive from this program?

• 8 weeks of paid classroom training – online and hands-on learning.

What does an apprentice do?
The Plumbing Apprentice at Harts is actively learning until they receive enough experience and hours to take their exam. They are responsible for assisting with any-and-all requested tasks on the jobsite and in the warehouse. They are also responsible for working through the apprentice program requirements on the path to become a Plumbing Lead.

What will you do after the 8 weeks of training, but before you’re licensed?

• Prepare daily jobs by arriving with required personal tools, helping organize, clean and load vehicles with necessary supplies.
• Keep all safety equipment maintained and use safety gear and Personal Protective Equipment as required.
• Keep job sites clean and organized at all times to maintain a safe environment for all.
• Pick-up parts, permits and equipment as needed for job sites.
• Assists and learns under Licensed Plumber working towards being able to complete plumbing jobs independently.
• While working to complete jobs, does whatever is requested learn core skills, how to be efficient, and growth knowledge.
• Help Parts & Equipment Expert weekly with organizing and cleaning of shop.
• Assists in weekly washing and interior detailing of vehicles.
• Every day ensure that all equipment used (ex. borer, burster, cameras, shovels etc.,) are cleaned and lubed.
• Reports any concerns including breaks, scratches, dents, leaks or missing parts on vehicles and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Valid Driver’s License
• Clean driving record

Working Conditions: Primarily on/in customer property and in the Harts Plumbers, Electricians, & HVAC Technicians warehouse.

Physical Requirements:

• Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of job.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to assist on job sites including but not limited to: entering and working in crawl spaces, manually digging holes, operating heavy machinery, climbing ladders and stairs, bending or stooping, working in a crouched position and crawling.
