Water Heaters can be not only a blessing, but also a danger.
Here are a few things to be aware of regarding the water heater in your residence or commercial building.
Things to watch out for:
- Steam coming from a faucet in the off position. If this happens immediately shut off the electric or gas valve on the water heater, then call a certified technician to asses the problem.
- Temperature & Pressure Relief Valves. Make sure you have a T/P valve easily legible on your water heater to prevent dangerous temperatures and over pressure. (Temperatures should be 104-120 degrees Fahrenheit
- Water Under or Around Water Heater. If you think there is a leak in the tank, stop using the tank and shut off any heat source, then call a trained technician. The technician can decipher if it is something that can be rebuilt or if a new unit is required.
